The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry has approved the name and symbols for four elements: nihonium (Nh), moscovium (Mc), tennessine (Ts), and oganesson (Og), respectively for element 113, 115, 117, and 118. The exploration of new elements continues, and scientists are searching for elements beyond the seventh row of the periodic table.

The Periodic Table of Chemical Elements is one of the most significant achievements in science, capturing the essence not only of chemistry, but also of physics and biology.

1869 is considered as the year of discovery of the Periodic System by Dmitri Mendeleev. 2019 will be the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements and has therefore been proclaimed the "International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements (IYPT2019)" by the United Nations General Assembly and UNESCO.

'स्पुटनिक - १' हा पहिला मानवनिर्मित उपग्रह ४ ऑक्टोबर १९५७ रोजी प्रक्षेपित करण्यात आला आणि अंतराळ संशोधनात तीव्र होऊ होऊ पाहणारी स्पर्धा टाळण्यासाठी 'आऊटर स्पेस ट्रिटी' या करारावर १० ऑक्टोबर १९६७ रोजी स्वाक्षऱया करण्यात आल्या त्यानंतर या क्षेत्रातील वाढती व्याप्ती आणि संदेशवहनात होणारी प्रगती पाहून संयुक्त राष्ट्राच्या आमसभेत ६ डिसेंबर १९९९ रोजी ४ ते १० ऑक्टोबर हा *'जागतिक अंतराळ सप्ताह'* अर्थात 'वर्ल्ड स्पेस विक' साजरा करण्याचा ठराव मंजूर करण्यात आला. या वर्षी *'स्पेस युनायटेड वर्ल्ड'* अर्थात *वैश्विक एकतेचा संदेश* ही या सप्ताहाची संकल्पना आहे.

                जागतिक अंतराळ सप्ताहातील उपक्रमांना जगात सर्वाधिक प्रतिसाद लाभतो. अंतराळ आणि शास्त्र या दोन्हींना कोणतीही बंधने नाहीत. व्यक्ती, देश, प्रांत, धर्म, जात, पंथ, भाषांचा त्यावर काहीही प्रभाव नाही. शास्त्रीय विचारसरणीतून एकता आणि विश्वबंधुत्वाची भावना वाढीस लागते. त्यामुळे जागतिक अंतराळ सप्ताहातून दिला जाणारा *'वैश्विक एकतेचा संदेश'* भावी पिढीच्या सर्वांगीण विकासासाठी अत्यंत उपयुक्त ठरणार आहे यात शंकाच नाही.
